Starting as a Java Developer in 2004, I turned my interests toward databases while migrating an application from DB2 to Oracle. I now enjoy working with Data across multiple platforms and technologies. I have a Master’s Degree in Information Systems and currently focus on delivering data platform solutions in the financial services domain. I am an active member of PASS and a frequent speaker at several local, national and international IT events. I regularly help with SQL Server questions on MSDN Forums. With Dacpacs, you can take it to the next level and deploy your SQL Server Database like a champion. In this demo heavy session, we will explore the Data-tier Application (DAC) and how is it relevant to your day-to-day activities, as a database developer or a DBA. We will be creating a DacPac from an existing database, deploying SQL Server Database changes using a DacPac and stepping through the various stages of database lifecycle management, by harnessing the power of DAC. You will walk out of this session, equipped with the knowledge of how to work with Data-tier Applications and make your SQL Server Database deployments a breeze. Goals: • Understand what is a DACPAC and how is it created • Familiarize yourself with the various tools and techniques of working with DacPac • Understand how to leverage DacPac for database lifecycle management and automating deployments
